WELCOME MESSAGE

Lourdes B. Capito, MD
President, The Foundation of Reproductive Care, Inc.
Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
It is my distinct honor to invite you to our upcoming postgraduate course, “Think Global, Act Local: Elevating Women’s Health Across Borders.”
In the evolving landscape of obstetrics and gynecology, we are often caught between the rapid advancement of international clinical guidelines and the complex, localized realities of the patients we treat. This course is designed to bridge that divide. We start with “Global“—analyzing systemic challenges, reviewing international guidelines and practices—then move decisively toward “Local“—equipping you with the practical, resource-appropriate tools to improve outcomes in your own delivery rooms and operating theaters.
Our scientific program transcends traditional lectures. We have curated a faculty of experts to discuss emerging topics on OBGYN in diverse clinical settings. Engage in sessions that challenge you to adapt standard protocols to the unique cultural and socioeconomic contexts of Filipino patient populations.
We believe that the future of women’s health depends on a workforce that is both globally informed and locally grounded. This gathering is more than a continuing medical education opportunity; it is a call to action for OBGYNs to lead as advocates for health equity. By attending, you are committing to a vision where maternal and reproductive excellence is not a privilege of geography, but a standard of care for all.
Join us! Let us redefine the boundaries of our practice and elevate the standard of care for women everywhere.
Warm greetings and welcome to the Annual Postgraduate Course: Patient-centered Universal Scientific Healthcare (PUSH) 2026!
This year’s theme, “Think Global, Act Local: Elevating Women’s Health Across Borders,” highlights a timely and important call for all of us in healthcare—to remain globally informed while responding meaningfully to the unique needs of the communities we serve. In an increasingly interconnected world, advances in women’s health transcend geographic boundaries, yet their true impact is realized only when translated into compassionate, accessible, and culturally relevant care at the local level.
As obstetricians and gynecologists, we stand at the forefront of addressing some of the most critical issues affecting women throughout their lives. From maternal care and reproductive health to preventive medicine, innovation, and advocacy, our influence reaches beyond the clinic. We are entrusted with advancing healthcare systems, empowering patients, and shaping a future where every woman receives the quality care she deserves.
I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to the Foundation for Reproductive Care, Inc under the leadership of President Dr. Lourdes Blanco-Capito for the steadfast commitment to this initiative. A special note of appreciation to the Organizing Committee led by Dr. Maria Geraldine Assumption Gavina N. Castillo-Torralba for their tireless efforts in building a truly stellar program. Their dedication—complemented by the invaluable contributions of our esteemed speakers, faculty, staff, industry partners, and participants—ensures that PUSH 2026 will be a resounding success. Collectively, your efforts embody the spirit of excellence and collaboration that defines our Department
As we gather on June 17–19, 2026, at The Manila Hotel, may this postgraduate course not only enrich our knowledge, but also renew our commitment to improving women’s health not only within our institutions, but across communities and borders.
Mabuhay!

Maria Jesusa B. Banal-Silao, MD, MSc Acting Department Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Philippine General Hospital
On behalf of the PUSH 2026 organizing committee, we’re excited to welcome you to this year’s annual postgraduate course, themed “Think Global, Act Local: Elevating Women’s Health Across Borders.”
Today, we find ourselves in a unique moment. Compared to decades past, women’s health is seeing rapid advances and exciting innovations. However, these breakthroughs only truly matter when they can be applied effectively in local practice. As obstetricians and gynecologists, we share the responsibility of translating global progress into care that meets the real needs of the communities we serve.
PUSH 2026 aims to encourage meaningful discussions and collaboration by connecting the latest guidelines and emerging discoveries with the everyday challenges faced by Filipino women. By learning from diverse perspectives and experiences, we can strengthen our ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care at home. Working together through research, education, and advocacy remains key to improving outcomes for women at every stage of life.
As obstetricians and gynecologists, we have the opportunity to raise standards of care and move women’s health forward—not just in our own practices, but across regions and generations. We look forward to learning, sharing, and growing with you at PUSH 2026!

Maria Geraldine N. Castillo-Torralba, MD
PUSH 2026 Overall Head
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Philippine General Hospital proudly invites you to our annual postgraduate course “Patient-centered Universal Scientific Healthcare for Women” or PUSH. The trademark “PUSH” reflects our enduring commitment to promoting women’s health by integrating evidence-based clinical practice with compassionate and patient-centered care. This event will be held at the Fiesta Pavilion of The Manila Hotel on June 17 to 19, 2026.
“Think Global, Act Local: Elevating Women’s Health Across Borders” is the theme for PUSH 2026. To think globally is to recognize that the rapidly evolving advancements across the various subspecialities of Obstetrics and Gynecology are redefining new standards in patient management. However, the true impact of these developments will be attained only when we act locally—when we adapt international clinical practice guidelines to our own local healthcare setting. This ensures that patient treatment strategies are appropriate to the socio-cultural realities, make efficient use of available resources, and remain well-aligned with women’s health needs.
Since I was a medical student, it has always been my dream to become part of the faculty of the UP College of Medicine and PGH—institutions known for excellence in patient care, medical education, and research. My professors and mentors have instilled in me the value of lifelong learning—the commitment to remain continuously informed of new developments to improve and enhance both patient care and professional growth. Serving as head of this postgraduate course is both a privilege and an opportunity to put this commitment into practice.
It is my honor to invite you to take part in PUSH 2026 —to engage, learn, and collaborate with esteemed colleagues and experts in the field. Join us in advancing a unified, high-quality, and patient-centered approach to OB-GYN practice.
We look forward to your participation in this meaningful event!
